Meet Our Coaches and Mentors

Founders
Coach Darryl and Branden Capleton
Darryl Capleton, aka Coach "D" was born and raised in Charleston, SC. He and his wife Branden have been youth mentors and coaches for more than 10 years. This includes mentoring at-risk young adults in and out of our judicial justice system in Charleston and surrounding areas. They enjoy empowering youth to avoid the trappings of the world, remaining positive in the community, taking the lead through ongoing one-on-one mentoring, being role models, and establishing friendships. Coaching and mentoring is one of the Capleton's God given gifts. Their passion is to help the younger generation succeed and exceed in life. Darryl and Branden believe all kids desire to be great; all they need is proper guidance, structure, and to be heard. They have worked and collaborated with several organizations in South Carolina at all levels.
“Steering these young individuals in making appropriate life choices enables them to maximize their personal and educational potential to become stronger role models.”
-Branden Capleton

Coach and Mentor
Kevin C. Glears Jr.
Kevin Glears Jr, aka “Coach Kev” has been a coach/mentor for two years. Kevin grew up in Goose Creek, SC. He graduated from Charleston Southern University where he also played Wide Receiver 2011-2015. “Sports has always been a major part of my life and has taught me many life lessons. I love giving back and helping our youth. My goal is to help maximize their potential in education and athletics." Coaching and mentoring is what he’s passionate about. With the proper guidance and leadership anything is possible. The Concrete Rose Foundation is a wonderful organization and I’m proud to be apart of something special.

Coach and Mentor
Curtis Rampersant
Curtis Rampersant was born and raised on John's Island, SC. He is a Benedict College graduate, a former collegiate athlete, a local firefighter, and a proud mentor with the Concrete Rose Foundation. Through life's experiences, he understands hurdling adversity, having patience, and working towards what one dreams of achieving in life. As a mentor with the Concrete Rose Foundation his goal is to give back to our young men. “I enjoy being a mentor because I once was a mentored student and young athlete. Our youth today need men who care about them not only in sports, but leaders who are interested in their future success and mental well being. This is why I've decided to give back my time with the Concrete Rose Foundation."
